OCCUPY WHILE WAITING FOR NEW ORDERS

Luke 5:27 - After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. “Follow me,” Jesus said to him

In today’s Gospel, we read about man whose simple biography can be captured as follows:
1. Name: Levi
2. Occupation: Tax collector
3. Job location: The Tax booth

It would have been interesting if Jesus had found Levi in a fishing boat. Instead, he was found in a tax booth-a designated spot with maximum visibility and signage that aligned with his role and assignment. This was necessary to do his job well. And if anything, it was from that location he encountered Jesus.

Some people are quick to change – whether it is a job, relationship, home addresses, or cars, among many others. Not that all change has a negative connotation, because it may be required in  untenable situations. However, where the pursuit of variety and simply comfort become the sole drivers for change, one may end up changing locations prematurely.

Beloved,

Until your assignment changes, and you receive new marching orders, stay diligently at your current post.
