WORK WITH THE SEASON IN MIND

Matthew 9:15 And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.

The atmosphere in a wedding celebration is one of joy and merry making. Tears sometimes, but that is often in response to delight. Regardless then of any other concerns you may have, on that occasion, you relegate those concerns and complaints briefly to the backseat and rejoice with the bridal party. Some songs aren’t acceptable and neither are some words and actions.

You can ruin the mood and atmosphere if you don’t read the room well. In second Samuel 18, King David had such a disposition and had to be told off for turning a victory parade into an occasion for mourning. Thus in Ecclesiastes 3:1, and 4, we read that:
To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to weep, And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, And a time to dance

There is reason to delight when the bridegroom is present – upon their departure, you can adjust your response accordingly to meet the change in circumstance. That is life
