THREAD SOFTLY

I was quite shocked when I read today text but you know what, it was worth a read because often we forget. We forget that God is God, and that He is a sovereign Monarch. In the midst of marginal results, we think we have arrived and have made it. However, today’s open to the first book of Corinthians is a harsh reminder to us all

St Paul writes “

Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong (1 Corinthians 1:26-27 NIV)"

Simply put, Paul tells them “by human standards, you were not even qualified – not wise enough, wealthy or influential enough, yet God chose you. If you understand this, you will really appreciate the ease with which a man can lose their estate when they become proud.

An interesting statement I heard today comes to mind, and it should serve as a caution: “

“when your head becomes too swollen, your crown will fall off. So thread softly and drop your pride.”
