SCRIPTURE OR CAP?

There is a series of Christian videos dubbed ‘Scripture or cap’. This is where a statement is presented to an individual and for them to judge whether the content presented is found in the word of God or just a made up statement. Today’s text about David and his men present one of such situations where they presented him with a statement that required judgement as ‘scripture or cap’.

Here was the statement captured in first Samuel 24:4: ‘This is the day the LORD spoke of when he said to you, ‘I will give your enemy into your hands for you to deal with as you wish. ’David discerned those words as ‘cap’ because he had come to understood that the Lord’s anointed should not be touched. So what if David did not know this?

There are a lot of cunningly devised fables and statements that sound like the word of God. They may seem morally and spiritually consistent but are actually non-compliant with the Word. You need to be careful therefore how you receive words from men, and upgrade your actual bank of the Word of God in you because that is the only way to filter out what is word compliant and what is not.

If not, you will act in accordance with socially constructed guidelines which are not Word compliant.
