GOD’S OUTCOME MUST INCLUDE HIS STRATEGY

Luke 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

We read in today’s Gospel Mary’s question to the Angel Gabriel “How shall this be” because for her, pregnancy would not have been a new concept despite her youth. So it was the manner or ‘the how’ hers was to happen that she was concerned about.

Somehow, in our dealings with God, we have become masters at getting or decoding what is to be done. But somehow, we are deficient in the ‘how to do it’. The what can often seem like a straight forward and predictable outcome, however it is the how that reveals the wisdom of God.

The answer Mary received  ‘The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God”(Luke  1:35) confirmed this: “No human technology has the potential to do things this way. It takes the wisdom of God to bring it to pass.

Therefore, ‘how will this be?’ is a question that probes the mind of God in search for clarity on the strategy of execution – the how, the who to work with, and the when. Without this, we are likely to approach many situations via our established human strategies and the reality is ‘you cannot achieve God’s results using the strategies of men’.
