YOUR TRAINING IS UNIQUE

Psalm 147:20 He has not dealt this way with any [other] nation; They have not known [understood, appreciated, heeded, or cherished] His ordinances. Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!)

While the whole verse is packed, it was the opening line that caught my eye: “He has not dealt this way with any other.

There are somethings described as ‘one size fits all’ – For those things, whatever you lay you hands on should fit – whether they are piece of clothing or even a string. However, there is another bracket called ‘bespoke or tailored to fit’. These require that specific measurements are taken and whatever  item is requested, made according  to those specification.

We are indeed all human, created in the image and likeness of God to serve his purposes. While it might look like the core mission remains the same and likewise the training, each of us is taken along a specific route. Just as God did not deal with any other nation in the same way as he did with Israel, our training regimen is adapted and ‘tailor made’ to fit where God is taking each one of us.

We can force ourselves into other people’s training regimen, but that is often misguided because it won’t fit. The training of a teacher is not the same as that of a prophet, and the training of a businessman will differ from that of a politician. Whenever we do not obtain the results we seek after following a set template, the first question to ask yourself  is: ‘Is this my template?’ There will be general trainings, but the one fitting your template and assignment will have personalized elements, so don’t force your way into the programmes of others.
