DON’T TAKE THE BAIT

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from Christ's love? Shall affliction or distress, persecution or hunger, nakedness or danger or the sword?

What is the goal when a believer goes through tough times? Let me ask this another way: what is the end objective when the enemy brings hardship or persecution or hunger or poverty or danger or death? Is to show off? No! So what exactly is the real pursuit when darts are fired continually along these lines?

The answer lies in the opening question “who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” The believer may go through what looks like ‘things and situations, but the use of ‘who’ suggests a personality behind those event. The question posed in the aftermath is this ‘if indeed they are so loved by their God, why are their lives not a breeze in the park?’

The moment one takes this bait and questions if indeed they are loved, seeds of doubt are planted and the foundation of one’s faith can be shaken. That makes any resistance to further storms even weaker. Beloved, there is often more to what you are going through than meets the eye, because in the business of Spirits, there are hardly any superficial dealings without deeper intent.

If you focus solely on the surface, you will become victim to the devices of the enemy and of that, we cannot be ignorant. Else we will lose firm ground and cede much territory, the first of which will be our faith.
