REFERENCE TEXT: Luke 11:37-41
The moment you invite God in, you should be ready for rebuke, correction and chastisement for He will not be politically correct as far as you are concerned. Jesus in today’s Gospel does not even appear to take into account the fact that he was ‘an invited guest’and his host was a Pharisee. He went all out with his jabs.
Here is the drill, if you are expecting God to be politically correct with you, you have missed the point. And that goes both ways for God expects you to present your heart, not the edited version of you, for He searches the depths of the heart.
There are also those men that God will place in your life for anything but the massaging of your ego. They are those you may refer to as ‘blunt’, but those who will speak truth to your power. They may come in the form men of God, mature Christian friends and family, sometimes even children or strangers.
No matter how highly you perceive yourself, these individuals are placed in your life to boldly tell you the truths you often don’t want to hear. Many times, you won’t like it, but they bring a chisel to contribute to your sculptoring. Bear with it!
