ARE YOU INFLUENCING OR BEING INFLUENCED?

Luke 10:5 But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’

It is interesting that unlike when it was time to celebrate the Passover where Jesus sent his disciples to a specific room in a particular house, today he sends them out and charges them to go into “whatever house’. However, their first assignment upon entry was to say” peace to this house”.

The mission of the seventy two then, like ours, was not limited to a specific house. We can look at a house beyond a physical structure, but as a home, a system, or even an enterprise. Thus, we are called to  bring our external atmosphere, cultivated in the presence of God, into every new space. The weight of what we carry as part of their mission, is heavy enough to influence whatever house. 

You cannot allow the set up you encounter to influence you, you are rather to bring your influence powered by heaven to that house. Your presence should bear the capacity to bring peace, healing and the message of the kingdom because our mission is to establish the government of God. The question really then today is “am I influencing or am I been influenced?”
