GO AND PLANT YOUR SEEDS

Luke 8:5a "A sower went out to sow his seed..."

There is no simpler way to say these words but with a bit more emphasis, “the sower takes his viable seed in hand and steps unto the field to plant them”. The reason is this “there is seed for eating, and seed for sowing”. Until and unless seeds for sowing make it below the soil, in the sowers hands, they remain as they are.

The sower cannot make the decision not to plant if he begin to ponder on questions like what will happens to the seed when I plant them? What if the birds eat them or what happens if they find themselves in poor soil? What if they don’t germinate at all? What if they die?

The reality is that while all of these questions are valid, they do not detract from the real premise that “Unless the seed falls to the ground and dies, it remains a seed”. That is not being buried, it is called being planted.

Many of us are going round with various seeds in our hands, running to and fro jealously guarding them. We are, however, too afraid to head out to the field – the platforms and places designated for the planting of seeds. Beloved, no matter how beautiful a seed is, it’s true potential is only revealed after it is planted. So head out to the field with your seed.
