LOVING IS HARD

Reference text: Luke 6:27-38

The two greatest commands in scripture are summarised in two short phrases “love for God” and “love for neighbour”. If you thought either of those are simple, then you really have not understood love; t’s length, depth, breadth and width. It is the expanse of these dimensions that moved God to establish love not as a fleeting feeling, or simply a choice, but as a command.

Because well and truly, if love were left as a choice, many would opt not to because not everyone is lovable all the time. The hardest person then to love is the one you should, but in any moment, don’t feel like loving.

Loving is hard! Whoever said loving is easy has not really loved. That is why it took God himself to pay the ultimate price to show love. While we yet sinners(Romans 5:8): undeserving of love, when God had very valid  reason to turn His back on us, His face from us and His grace away from us, He still loved us.

So yes, loving is hard and let no one tell you otherwise. That is why love is a command, it goes beyond your feelings.
