GET ARMED IN ANTICIPATION

There used to be a TV game show called “it takes two”. It was a show where two people who claimed to be familiar with each other, whether as friends or family, teamed up to be asked questions about each other. Success thus really depended on what was already known as there was no conferring allowed once the show begun.

Jesus’ dealings today, described as ‘his custom’, hinged on knowing which part of the word to open. He opened the book of Isaiah and found the text he read. So to you, the questions to ponder on are:

• When trouble comes, do you know where to open?
• When gratitude wells up, which page do you turn to?
• When disaster strikes, what do you read?

You cannot wait for bad times to arm yourself with weapons. You would have lost the battle before if even started.
