THE BADGE OF CONSISTENCY

1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father.

In the opening letter to the Thessalonians which we read today, a couple of words and phrases stand out: “always” and “without ceasing”. That is the language of consistency.

Variety has been described as the spice of life, and thus for many, doing the same thing over and over again is boring and repetitive. They may lose interest and so abandon the said task. However, there are many things in life and destiny actualization that are designed to be exactly that: ‘repetitive’. What we describe as repetition, is consistency.

This is a key ingredient in the making of great destinies. It helps keep one grounded and on track doing what they ought to do, both in and out of season. Consistency will require you to embrace the things others may classify as “boring”. It will cause you to revisit the drawing board, repeating lessons you may have already learnt. In the sight of others, consistency is also the bedrock of predictability – it provides a reference point.

Beloved,

Consistency is a very loud language, both physically and spiritually. No one attains mastery without having it as a badge on their chest.
