Reference text: Judges 6:11-24
One of the first things anyone learns in a biology class is cell differentiation or specialisation – where cells begin to acquire distinct features that make them suitable for particular tasks. Such cells will be less, if not entirely unproductive when assigned alternative duties to perform.
We return today to the story of Gideon beating wheat in a wine press because of the presence of the midianites, hence the preamble above. The task of beating grain is designated to the threshing floor. That location is purpose-built to optimize the process of harvesting grain. Any alternative sites, therefore, represent inefficient platforms.
Inefficiency is a big fighter of advancement. In all ways, we must strive to harness the best ways of getting things done throughout. This may often require a review of processes, resources and personnel. Without this, you may succeed in beating wheat alright, but you will only have a fraction of the results that can be obtained to show for it.
