DON’T WASTE YOUR HUNGER

Matthew 12:1-2 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain and eat them. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, “Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.”

Even though hunger is often generally used in reference to food, we are all too aware that food is too simple a thing to be all there is to hunger, it encompasses a lot more.

Jesus’ disciples were walking through a field of corn and since they were hungry, they definitely did not even remember it was the Sabbath when the Pharisees came knocking. Even if they did, the hunger override their impulses to obey the rules.

Hunger is thus a rather strong force, one that is often under estimated. If it wasn’t, why would it be the first thing the devil tempted Jesus with? How did Esau lose his birthrite?

Hunger is a force that can blind anyone to existing limitations;
It can instill boldness,
Inspire action,
Initiate conflict,
Trigger inaction,
Sponsor anger, hatred and
birth dishonesty and greed.

Matthew 7:8 is a question of hunger: “For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” The question today is “are you hungry enough to channel that drive into positive, purposeful living and destiny actualization? There is too much at stake in life to waste your hunger.
