SHIFT YOUR PERSPECTIVE

Luke 9:12-13 Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said, “Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here.”
He replied, “You give them something to eat.”They answered, “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish—unless we go and buy food for all this crowd.”

The twelve in today’s Gospel showed both insight and foresight. They accurately and swiftly diagnosed the problem at hand, and even knew the solution to it. However, one hindrance persisted, and that was their perception that they did not have the resource requirements to address it. At least, that was the obvious and valid conclusion as they faced the task of feeding 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 fish.

They could only see the trouble coming from miles away, but Jesus didn’t see that, but rather an opportunity to look up and give thanks. Here is the catch: “your perception of any matter is relevant because it affects your response. Whether you will enter into a frenzy and panic mode, or remain level headed, is a function of your perspective.”

So that matter before you now, how are you perceiving it?
