STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

2 Corinthians 11:6 Even though I may be untrained as an orator, I am not so in the field of knowledge. We have made this clear to all of you in every possible way.

In mathematics, the final sign taken up by an operation during the addition of negative and positive numbers depends on the size of each. The bigger in any direction wins the sign game. The same can be true for any man with strengths and weaknesses, the size of either can determine the ultimate direction of their life.

We get another glimpse into the complex world of Saint Paul where today, he highlights to us a key lesson on strength and weakness. He identified from the onset that while oratory was a weakness, he had a strength in knowledge and through it, could carry out the assignment given to him.

In other words, his weakness in speaking was compensated for by his knowledge. The question that came to mind is “what balances out your limitations?” You cannot claim weakness in all areas of life, God has not made it so. Perhaps, what is missing is the discovery of strengths.

A critical lesson one can walk with through life is the realization that “the one who knows his strengths, and has understanding of his own weakness knows how to elevate his strengths to mitigate those weak points.
