VET YOUR AUDIENCE

John 13:31 When Judas had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in Him.

Some versions of scripture render the first few words of today’s text ‘as soon as Judas left the room’. In other words, there was a message to be delivered to a specific audience, and Judas was not included. This may seem like Jesus discriminating because who knows what impact those words would have had on Judas. Nonetheless, we would realise that they only made sense in Judas’ absence.

Here is a brief insight into the words “as soon as Judas left the room” : not only is there a specific timing for some things said or done, there is also a particular audience for them. That is why to the wrong audience, a grande idea can be trivialized to seem like a random thought.

Be careful, therefore, the point in time at which you begin your communications to ensure you have the right audience tuned in. It may not seem much, but this has an influence on the content of what you deliver, and what becomes of it.
