NOTHING IS WASTED WITH GOD

Reference: Acts 8:1-8
In life’s circumstances, situations and even what we may describe as displacements and shifts, God has a way of routing good things through them. Everything is thus an opportunity for God to make himself known. He stays true to the words ‘all things work together for the good of those that love God and are called according to his purpose’ (Rom 8:28)

To the untrained eye therefore, the church was only going through tough times. Yet, in the eyes of God, that was an opportunity for the seeds of the Gospel to be cast even further. Phillip’s journey into Samaria was ‘forced’ – that is to say, had there been no shakings in Jerusalem, the church would have remained in that location.

But we recall Jesus’ words to the Apostles in Acts 1:8b “and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
They were not told how this would occur, but the shakings aligned perfectly with those words since the scattering took the church to the regions of Judaea and Samaria.

Beloved, it appears you the who only one  who sees your current situation as the end, as a blip and a deviation from what God is doing. What God sees is everything as an ingredient in the grande scheme of His plan. Nothing is wasted: no pain, no tear, no lesson, no shaking, no crushing – they are useful to God in your becoming. I, therefore, invite you to look ever more closely at the full picture – briefly retrace your steps and see what God is doing. Even if you don’t see it, He is at work with, through, and in you.
