GO, STAND AND SPEAK

Acts 5:20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

The instruction we read above were the instructions received from the Angel who broke the Apostles out of prison. It was a strange escape because the prison doors remained locked, the guards remained stationed outside the doors but the occupants of the prison were nowhere to be found (Acts 5:23). Broken down into the facets we see:

GO“: Just because the doors are open, does not mean one has stepped out though them because many remain behind doors even when they are widely open. Some mainly because they have not gathered the courage required to GO. Hence, after opening the doors, the instruction was GO – step forward, get going because you have work to do.

This was followed by “STAND and SPEAK.
One of the most awkward silences becomes evident when an individual mounts a podium intended for delivering messages, holds the microphone and then stares blankly into space. Even if it’s  as a joke, over a short space of time, murmurings and anger will begin to rise from the audience.

It is, therefore, not enough to GO and STAND, but rather to GO, STAND and SPEAK. In other words, your mission is to step forward with a suitable message because we are to be witnesses and ambassadors for God. The message you carry is ‘His message’. Through every word and action of yours therefore, the loudest voice that should be heard is that of Jesus such that through and in your life, Jesus is revealed and Jesus is glorified.
