WHAT DO YOU HAVE?

Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.

Again, we read about a state of self awareness exhibited by Peter and John in that they could draw a clear line separating “what they had, from they did not”. This is not something they would have come into by chance, it required a knowing-a firm conviction, understanding and acceptance.

Peter’s words ‘what I have, I give you’, ultimately causes us to ask ourselves the question “what do I have?” We can only answer this question if we have actually bothered to find out. Or are going to say ‘we have nothing to give?’ Both to God and to men, nothing at all? Not our prayer? Not our kindness? Not our withholding of judgment? Will we only always take and give nothing back? Not our thanks, nor our praise and worship? Nothing at all?

Beloved, you can only give from what you have, and know you have. Many say they have ‘nothing’ to give, and that is sadly because they have not searched to know what they have.
