FAITH IS BOLD, NOT RECKLESS

John 11:53-54 So from that day on they plotted to take his life. Therefore Jesus no longer moved about publicly among the people of Judea. Instead he withdrew to a region near the wilderness, to a village called Ephraim, where he stayed with his disciples.

If there is one thing Jesus knew, it was the awareness that He had come to lay down his life, to fulfill the requirement of God’s judgment. That death, had to happen on the cross. Thus, any situation that had potential to interrupt this outcome, was to be avoided. In other words, His death had to meet specific requirements.

Hence, armed with the knowledge that a plan was being hatched to kill him, He retreated from public life for a season. Because it made sense-it was a lot easier to do harm to a man openly available and exposed.

Jesus had faith in God, however, the presence of faith should not imply the abandonment of wisdom; which is the practical application of knowledge to obtain expected results. Remember, faith is bold, but faith is not reckless.
