THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU

The two parts of today’s text are connected by the preposition “And” hence it reads ‘ But this command I gave them: ‘Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people.[AND] walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.’(Jeremiah 7:23)

Just because you are Christian ‘and are classified as God’s child’ does not automate every other area of your life, be it growth, finance, wellbeing, or relationships etc. Belonging can facilitate your efforts, but for it to be well with you, ‘you have to walk in the things that are commanded’.

In Saint Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians(3:21), he writes “all things are yours”. However, even though this is the case, not all things will be manifested in our lives if we have not walked or followed the requisite  principles. In other words, there are set principles and protocols that lead to attaining the things pertaining to both life and godliness even though that you have access to them.

There are two dimensions: ‘obedience to His voice’, and ‘walking in His commands’. The former makes you a child of His, but it takes the latter to activate the manifestation of possibilities.
