OPERATE WITH CERTAINTY

Reference: Jonah 3:1-10

We read the story of Jonah and his first foray into Nineveh. The king and his nobles declared a national upon hearing his words of impending doom. All fasted, not even the cattle and sheep in the field were fed. However, we notice that the premise for their fast was a based on a probability: “

who knows? Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?(Jonah 3:9) "

That was a gamble they took in the midst of uncertainty. Our story is however very different because we have the certainty the Ninevites never had. We have been given certainty to approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and grace to help,  as well as an assurance that when we call, He answers and when we cry, He hears our voice.

Instead, it appears we are those who have  swayed even farther away from His presence after been granted access. What a shame! What a shame that such a golden ticket has not been taken advantage of. What a loss that we remain uncertain and distant amidst surity and certainty?

So the strategy today is:

‘As children of the new covenant, let’s operate from a realm of understanding that utilizes the certainty God has given us.’
