MONTH OF STRATEGIES

Leviticus 19:14" Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD."
I was reminded of a couple of English words this morning: slip, trip, and stumble. The first two occur as a result of an obstacle- slips often by wet surfaces and trips by anything else. Both can cause one to stumble: ‘lose balance and nearly fall’. Thus, the aim of any stumbling block is to potentiate a fall.
So placing ‘a stumbling block’ in the path of the blind raises alarms. While the outcome is uncertain, the potential for harm is significantly amplified because of the absence of vision. To the one who can see, a stumbling block may call them to attention and greater focus, but to the blind, it could be a source of great harm.
There are those who thrive on laying stumbling blocks, rooting their said convictions on the ‘potential for danger’. Such thrive on the premise ‘it’s only to cause a stumble’. Beloved, our role in journeys of others, towards God and destiny fulfilment is to aid their pursuit in righteousness. Not cause stumbles and falls.
Remember the words of Jesus: ‘but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. (Mt 18:6)
So today’s strategy:
Don’t become an individual who resists, thwarts or hinders the advancement of others.
