MANAGE YOUR HUNGER

MONTH OF STRATEGIES

Luke 4:3-4 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Today’s strategy is this ‘don’t eat everything you’re offered just because you are hungry’.

This has both practical and spiritual implications. Hunger is a necessary ingredient growth. In fact, it is the inbuilt mechanism by which a child survives since they cry out for food when hungry. However, not everything can be consumed because they may not have appropriately developed systems to digest them.

Even as adults, some raw or poorly prepared meals can have significant implications. The same is true spiritually and even in life. You cannot consume every revelation just because it sounds nice, you cannot take every opportunity just because it looks good, you cannot say  everything just because you could.

There is an African proverb that says

‘if you give bad food to your stomach, it will drum for you to dance’.

If you don’t manage your hunger, and in desperation and greed, put everything you are offered into your mouth, [every food, opportunity, door, word etc], you will receive appropriate feedback soon enough.
