In many sports, regardless of the level of regonition, celebration and acceptance come as a product of consistent results. Those athletes currently contributing to the success story at any one time receive the most plaudits. It becomes a question of knowledge and competency, the urge ‘to do well’.
Ecclesiastes 9:10a gives a charge:
‘ Whatever you set your hands to do, do it well [with all your might].
I think there are times when we have to remind ourselves that not everything is only spiritual, because many tend to assume that is all there is to everything. There are other dimensions such as intent, hardwork, and competence. The words God spoke to Cain were poignant ‘if you do well, would you not be accepted?'(Gen 4:7)
That is the question we want to ask ourselves. So before our countenance falls, “have we done things well?”
