Genesis 1:4 God saw that the light was good (pleasing, useful) and He affirmed and sustained it; and God separated the light [distinguishing it] from the darkness.
If there is one character we see about God through scripture, it is his preference for ‘separation’; where separation relates to clear distinction and boundaries without overlaps. Thus, right from creation, we see clear separations: night and day, light and darkness, waters above from the waters below, land from seas.
We see a similar theme as we journey along when Israel was asked to choose between life and death, and in the new the testament, we see other distinctions like hot or cold, left or right, good or evil.
Whenever there is an absence of clear boundaries and separation, it creates a haziness. This subsequently causes confusion as one may continue to swing like a pendulum, constantly changing sides. In the words of Joshua to Israel’ choose this day who you will serve’, where boundaries are concerned, to attain any form of mastery, one must be prepared to pick a side and stick with it.’
Such consistency is a minimum requirement to generate any potential for Advancement.
