Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen. (Heb 11:1). We could think of it as the energizer of what we perceive, giving us a sense of actual possession. Today however, we are invited to consider another dimension in addition to faith, and that is ‘patience’.
"And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised." (Heb 6:15)
This combination is ideal because while faith is a fuel that lays hold of things not manifested as though they were, the human senses and mind would ultimately want to touch those realities in experience. Otherwise, when manifestation is hindered in any way, faith can be lost. One may find themselves in an internal dialogue, attempting to negotiate their way back into faith.
The ‘patience dimension’ therefore seeks to provide the endurance needed to await the manifestation of faith. Without this, the balloon of faith gets deflated slowly until none is left to hold on to what has been promised. There is faith, but the ideal combination is faith with patience because
Yes, you can perceive, but can you wait for its manifestation?
