CONTENTIONS WILL ARISE

Acts 6:8-9 Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people. Opposition arose, however, from members of the Synagogue of the Freedmen(as it was called)...who began to argue with Stephen.

Are you facing contentions?
Resistance honing in all sides?
Do you sense that you have sudden impediments to your advance?
That is your cue that you are headed somewhere, as long as you are within God’s will for you.

Most of the battles we fight arise first from the choice of our camp: there are only two-with God or not. Either choice implicates you in an ongoing rebellion. I choose to be on the Lord’s side, and I will recommend the same side to you. It’s the best side to be one.

Contentions will arise whenever the outcome of your dealings have the potential to leave lasting impact. When Stephen was called to serve at the tables, there was no concern about his work. But notice that the moment his ministry expanded and he begun doing great things among the people, contentions arose.

Don’t be excited when others are facing all manner of battles, the only reason you seem exempted is probably because your voice is yet to reach certain corridors. With every increase, comes contention. That is why Stephen was described as full of grace and power. Increase without building capacity will likely lead to calamity.
