RECEIVING GOOD THINGS

Mary’s visit to the home of Zechariah, where Elizabeth lived, gave us privy to hear these words Elizabeth spoke to her:

"But why is this honour done me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?"(Luke 1:43)

Let us paint another version where Mary enters this home and Elizabeth starts with ” what did you come here for? Have you also come to verify if indeed I am carrying a child? Well, as you can see, its true so satisfy your curiosity and be on your way”

Even while writing this, I thought that would have been a rather unnecessary and harsh way to handle things. Yet, it is a very true reality and a way through which many have lost the good things that came their way.

Beloved, there is a how to receiving: a way to, and a way not to receive good things (people or resources). Good things when they come, must be received in meekness or humility, with a heart of gratitude and a posture oriented towards acknowledgement of its source. Because
in truth,

you can very easily lose good things if you receive them the wrong way.
