Reference text: Judges 13:1-25

1. God knows
It’s not that God is unaware of what is going on with us, because sometimes that is how we make him out to be. An ignorant and aloof creator. But He is ever more aware. When the angel came to Manoah’s wife, the opening remarks were to acknowledge her current state ‘behold you are barren and have not born children but…” So beloved, God is well informed about your matter, in case you think otherwise.

2. Keep Consecration requirements
Manoah’s wife received a very strict set of orders which she was to follow to a T  before she conceived: drink no wine or strong drink, eat nothing unclean. These were non negotiable consecrations to be kept, no room for exceptions or excuses. For us then, whether it is to increase in power, influence, wisdom or understanding; or whether to succeed at education, career or marriage-there are unique consecration requirements. Our question to ponder on therefore is “Are we ready for the consecration requirements that come with the callings we so desire to have?

3. Stay with God till the end
When we read the text, we notice an additional phrase which Manoah’s wife communicated to him that we don’t find captured in the words of the angel (13:5): for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb [to the day of His death] “. That addition, was a blueprint for a lasting journey with God. It’s not only about starting with God, but also finishing with Him”.
