MISSED OPPORTUNITIES

Luke 21:12-13 But before all this occurs, there will be a time of great persecution. You will be dragged into synagogues and prisons, and you will stand trial before kings and governors because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me.

No one who finds themselves hauled to court, facing imminent loss of life or is locked up within the walls of a prison thinks about anything else beyond their immediate salvation. At least, that is the normal response. To think about anything else, you have to be prompted. Even better, you may require valid reasons to do so.

However, there are some spaces one may never get the chance to stand in regardless of the extent of their giftings. It may require something else. Jesus, therefore, had to be clear in telling his disciples that not every appearance before men of influence and power will be a cause for celebration. This may be our preference, but the reality is different.

Every platform we are offered first presents an opportunity not to show who we are, but to put God on display. From the moment it becomes about us, we lose an opportunity.

God is not afraid to set you before greatness, the concern is who will be exhibited when you get there? Yourself or Him?
