PATTERNS PREDICT OUTCOMES

Reference text: Luke 20:27-40

Even as you read this text, do you notice the patterns on your phone? The location of the clock and battery percentage or the  colours on the app you currently using? Life consists of patterns- night then day, that is one pattern; winter-spring-summer-autumn that is another. There are many others like this which have to be discerned to make life liveable. They are like maps which facilitate preparation for the changing phases of life.

Even though some patterns can be seen, often without effort, some have to be recognized. You have to look for them. By doing so, good patterns can be captured and applied, and negative ones  interrupted as soon as possible. The text today about the seven brothers and one woman, resulting in the same outcome brings the concept of patterns into view  quite strongly.

They may not have recognized the pattern at all, or may have recognized it too late. Regardless, it’s effects were crystal clear. Beloved, patterns provide templates, patterns guide preparation and patterns predict outcomes. Don’t ignore them. In fact, make every effort to recognise patterns and obtain wisdom to act on them.
