“NOT KNOWING” COMES AT A COST

‘Arise, shine, for your light has come'(Isaiah 60:1a). Whenever light arrives, there is an accompanying boldness because sight is clearer and paths are illuminated. One can see where they step and so can press forward in that direction. In its absence, every forward move is a risk and even standing still is also risky. The goal therefore is to strive for ‘light’- which comes through knowledge.

In the Gospel, speaking about Jerusalem, Jesus says “

And they will level you to the ground, and your children within you, and will not leave a stone upon a stone within you, because you did not know the season of your visitation" (Luke 19:44)

The reason for such heavy losses was because light was not captured “when the season of visitation came, they did not recognise or know it, so they missed it”. Whichever area you are deficient in, whatever you don’t know, or whereever light is absent, can cost you in some way. If not in material or monetary terms, it could cost you your peace, relationships and opportunities.

Therefore, seek light, then you can arise and shine.
