THERE IS A LESSON IN EVERY MOMENT

The question today is a rather straightforward one “what wisdom have you gleaned from the world around you?” That world in question being a total sum of all things created, including the men in it and very often, the circumstances and situations they contribute to creating. In most of the encounters we have with the world around us, there lies potential for reaction, complaint or for learning. We could end up on the lower ends of this spectrum that we ignore all learning possible.

When people speak from what they call “experiences”, they are drawing from the moments of learning they have gathered through their interactions with the world around them. Jesus thus makes an analogy from which this lesson emerges:

"Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near (Mark 13:28).

There are moments when the lessons, ideas, methods or approaches we need to master in life, for our transition through certain seasons are meant to be sought. There are lessons in the joyful moments, in the pain, and even from failure. There are lessons in silence, the falling leaves, the changing seasons, the growing seed, light in darkness, or a moving vehicle. There lessons in a person’s choice of words, body language, tone and action.

Beloved, there are lessons hidden in every moment of time, but they have to be intentionally gleaned from every  encounter.
