NEW WINE, NEW WINESKINS

Luke 5:37 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.

Before God announces a person to the world, with the assignment to serve his purposes, He often takes them through seasons:
seasons of obscurity, training and growth,         seasons of stretching, crushing, and toughening,
seasons of building virtue, capacity and character,
It is only when these are ingrained into their person are they given an all clear. For some, this happens while they are already on the journey with God.

The strength of new wine has the potential to overwhelm old wine skins, likewise, the wine of the Spirit has the potential to overwhelm any unprepared vessel. There is a level of mental transformation, spiritual pursuit and built up capacity that should precede the reception of new wine. This is why an individual may be prepared for many seasons in hiding before being anointed to stand forth.

Here is the core of today’s message: the graces, anointing and giftings from God,
serve His purposes best and glorify Him the most when they rest on a prepared vessel. New graces, anointings and giftings can be misused if they rest in vessels unprepared to host them. Else, there is a real chance of destroying the wine skin and spilling the wine. Jesus words were not a suggestion, they were an imperative
But new wine must be put into new wineskins; and both are preserved” (Luke 5:38).

Is your current vessel ready to host new wine? [new graces, anointing, giftings, relationships, resources]
