GROWING THROUGH DISCOMFORT

Between ‘death’ and delight, no one will opt for the former. Today’s text however reads: ‘John 12:24

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone: but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit.'

Hence, there are times when the start of life is dependent on what we will call ‘death’- pain, crushing and pressing, that appears to snuff out our very essence. We can choose to remain comfortable: never changing, never learning, never growing, but in doing so, our comfort zone can become our burial ground, instead of soil for planting.

Many of the results that people have to show, are preceded by periods of discomfort, straining and pressing that requires them to step out of their comfort zones. You cannot really get far in life if your goal is to continually pursue comfort at all times. There has to be moments of stretching and stepping out of our comfort zones.
