DON’T BECOME A PRAYER PROJECT

The Canaanite woman about whom we read today presents an example of dogged forward advance to obtain results. Like Bartimaeus, she took advantage of the office of Christ as ‘son of David’ to receive help. Interestingly, the scene in the text that caught my attention beyond her interactions with Jesus, were the words the disciples said concerning her case:

But He did not say a word in answer to her. And His disciples came and asked Him [repeatedly], “Send her away, because she keeps shouting out after us.”(Matthew 15:23)

While she was pleading her case, those with access to the grace she sought to receive from were asking for an urgent dismissal. Had she depended solely on these to advance her course, she would have been disappointed and not known why.

I understand the place of Intercession, but  you cannot make your life and destiny actualisation ‘a prayer project’ for other people because every one else has their own to contend for. You have to take personal responsibility for petitioning God in prayer, and sometimes even men.

Many tend to outsource all their prayer enterprise, expecting others to bear those burdens and stand in the gap at all times on their behalf. This will only go so far and cover so much. Become your most vocal advocate when matters of life are concerned, and trust the Holy Spirit to give you the utterance to raise your own incense to God. Your personal prayer altar can speak loudest if you tend it.
