Jeremiah 15:20 And I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall; And they will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you; For I am with you to save you And deliver you,ā says the LORD.
The Christian who walks oblivious of the battles around them is blindly dancing their way into trouble.
Likewise, the one who walks with a perpetual focus on the same battles is going to walk in fear. The flip side of this coin is this ‘the one who walks ignorant of their victory despite the battles, will continue to walk defeated and deflated. However, the same person who walks taking their victory secured in God for granted, will become proud and careless.
Just like the Psalmist in Psalms 23:5a ‘He sets a table before me in the presence of enemies’, both “the table” and “the enemies” were acknowledged as realities.
In other words, if you set you eyes only on the battles, you will become afraid, but if you set your eyes equally on only the victory, you may become lascivious and careless. The balance is therefore to acknowledge the battles, but walk with a consciousness of victory because both are guaranteed ‘they will fight against you, but they shall not prevail’.
Don’t pretend there are no battles, but also don’t take the victory won for granted.
