Minibites

I sat in a graduation ceremony yesterday and like similar occasions, there are speeches given that draw on the many years of experience individuals have amassed. Often hidden in these speeches are wisdom nuggets. Regardless, they have to be considered in light of the Word of God. So here are some mini bites from the graduation speeches yesterday:

Always do what you say you will do, it’s how you get promoted.

There is always a faithfulness and consistency criteria with both God and men. That is why maturity, which is a testament of faithfulness and consistency in our walk is celebrated. To commit to doing what one says, is how you become trusted enough to then have power, wealth, influence and men entrusted to you. Don’t forget.

Don’t waste a single day, always ask yourself ‘Am I better today than I was yesterday?’.

“The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.” (Prov 4:19). Each day presents an opportunity to transition upwards in knowledge, experience, impact, etc. No matter how bleak any day looks, ensure you have gained from it because even when an evil day beckons, each day ‘is the day the Lord has made’ – so there is something in it for you.
