COMFORT DOESN’T WORK IN BATTLE

Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Jesus’ instruction to the disciples was to give them a heads up that they were in a war. I have not sent you into comfort, I have sent you into a battle ground where you cannot afford to lose guard. I know there are wolves, but I still send you into their midst.

If sheep will dare to have an influence on the pack of wolves, they have to dare to wander unto their turf. However, they have to be armed with another kind of wisdom, the kind that allows survival in unfamiliar and treacherous terrain. Similar to the kind Daniel had in Babylon.

There, everyday was a battle: a battle of words, strategy, ideas, policy, convictions and even a battle of power. It will be at your peril to think otherwise because make no mistake, “if you stay solely as sheep amidst a pack of wolves, you will become prey”.

If you want to stay comfortable, you cannot change anything: not your life, nor society, nor the world. Life is a battleground, staying comfortable will get you disappointed because some things have to be contented for.
