THE EFFECTS OF FRUITFULNESS

We read about Israel being described as a ‘luxuriant vine’, whose fruit bearing resulted in an increase in the gap between them and God where they set up altars He disapproved of. (Hosea 10:1-2).

Whenever an individual achieves an enviable level of results and fruitfulness, the first thing that suffers is their relationship: first with God, and with men. That is why the devil is not afraid to also give things, because those things can very easily keep our eyes off the relationships that matter: first with God, then with men.

Whether it is a new job with unforgiving hours and new connections, or a degree of wealth that makes one feel above everybody else; there is something consistent results do to a person’s spirit and mind, such that if not managed right, can instill a sense of ego and pride that bears potential to destroy.

There is a question worth exploring therefore “if I was given everything I ever wanted now, would I still need God, and would I still respect men?
