Looking on as the vehicle we have had at home for the last 8 years sat on the back of a tow vehicle never to be seen again was tough to see. Regardless, while sentimental attachment suggested holding on to it, the economics said something else. So ultimately, it had to be let go.
There are times in life when we arrive at cross roads where decisions have to be made, among them are those moments when the question to be asked is: do I hold on to, or do I let go?’ This question may be asked about jobs, assets, contracts, and even relationships with others. There arises moments when these decisions, which often have sentimental connotations, have to made.
The hard truth is even if you don’t make these choices, circumstances will force your hand. Therefore you have to discern: count the cost, and count the gain. There are things you should hold on to like Naboth, who refused to let go off his family’s vineyard to king Ahab. However, there are other things that have to be let go to lighten your load if you really want to ascend.
You cannot carry everything and everyone the entire length of your life’s journey, you must count the cost, and the gain.
