GETTING TO THE TOP

Getting to the top is not the problem, it is staying there that poses a real challenge”.

Everyone running moves forward, aiming for what lies ahead of them. So what happens when one appears to have arrived at the top, their ultimate goal? While they can lose their motivation because there may be nothing else to strive for, the chasing pack still have the top as their goal and keep running towards it. This is true in career, and in life.

It is the reason we are admonished to look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith because with our gaze firmly fixed on Him, there will always be something to reach for. This is because the well called God, is one we cannot drink entirely. Rather, with every draw, we see a new dimension or facet. Hence, the words ‘grow in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ our Lord’.

“A secure position” is not one without battles!” In fact, many more arrows and darts are fired at a secure position to gauge its defenses and weaken them. So do not be deceived into thinking that getting to the secure position is the only battle, the bigger battles begin when one strives to maintain that position. So be on guard, lest you are swept off your feet. Let him who thinks he stands take heed, lest he fall.
