What changes a man from the inside begins with what comes in from the outside. It should therefore not really be surprising that the people ‘stopped their ears’ before rushing at Stephen. They had to close themselves to everything outside and move with what was inside. While the outcome to today’s covering of ears sadly resulted in the death of Stephen, the action in itself is one we ought to consider adopting sometimes.

Our external atmospheres, senses and conditions always aim to exert influence on  the internal environment. Thus, to remain resolute in conviction and firm with planned action, we must sometimes ‘cover our ears’. In essence, ignore all the external noises to run with what is within.

We will remain children until we arrive at the point where we are not easily swayed to change our focus by every external stimuli
