DRIVE THINGS OUT OF YOUR TEMPLE

DAY 62/366

John 2:15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

You are very likely to be charged with “obstruction of a business” and could face fierce resistance if you dare to touch any individual’s cash cow or source of income. So it makes sense to us that when Jesus got to the temple, he not only turned tables upside down, he drove out all those trading oxen, sheep and pigeon, together with their produce, from the temple.

The message from this action is thus: “You cannot expect business men to simply unpitch their tents from the locations they get their money from, even if they are occupying those spots illegally. In semblance to the temple, Saint Paul revealed that out bodies are the temples of the holy sprit with his spirit resident in us.

Therefore, it is worth thinking about what is going on in your temple? Is it the hustle and bustle of the market place or the peace and serenity from the Holy Spirit? Your answer will determine your subsequent actions because you may be required to literally” drive things” out of your temple: inappropriate thoughts, weights, and every other thing inconsistent with the operation of God because the house of God, is meant to be a house of prayer.
