BECOMING INVOLVES YOU

2 Corinthians 9:22 to the weak I became [a]as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.

Across many spheres, including all dealings in the kingdom of God, there is a reward system. Whether one is compensated in monetary form to reflect an increase in responsibility and results,  greater access or whatever one might classify as a reward, they are given.

With God, one can receive gifts and graces to function as intended. However, some things are not gifts and so cannot be given: experience for example. This comes only as a product of growth and maturing. There is nothing like ‘the gift of growth’. So today, Paul’s words drive this message home, ‘I have become all things to all men’.

He had to put ingredients together in proportions and measures that caused him to become who he describes. Becoming is therefore not something that can be imparted to you, you have to go through the process of growing and maturing. Perhaps, missteps here and there, hard lessons every now and again but ultimately, that is the cocktail that will get you to where you ought to be at.

Becoming” will always involve a you component, a commitment and desire to the end goal at hand. Once drop yoir responsibility for becoming, a mirage is what is left.
