DAY 27/366

Mark 4:38 And He Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
Jesus was right in the boat. As they rode into the eye of the storm, he was in their boat. They had secured his presence in their challenging circumstance. Yet, when they woke Him up, their question was “don’t you care that we are perishing?”
While we can assign some metaphorical notation to these words, but is worth pointing out that these men, on the verse of drowning were speaking Literally. They had just told Jesus “you really don’t care”, and that is the same conclusion many of us have made about God in our lives.
We have perceived Him as an uncaring, aloof and unhelpful oldman who sits on a great and shiny throne moving pieces on a chess board as he so wishes. That He has no interest in anything that matters to us and would rather watch us struggle in our ignorance and powerlessness. Oh, what a sad understanding of who God is.
Do you really think He doesn’t Care? Are you honestly convinced that have journeyed the whole way all by yourself? Perhaps, look around again. That same God, was there in the midnight hours seeing your tears, the same God has a record of how many hairs you lose each day, including today, that same God was there in what seemed like your moments of weakness and lack and, He is the same one who heard when you called.
He cares much more than you can conceive.
