YOU HAVE MOURNED LONG ENOUGH

DAY 16/366

1 Samuel 16:1 The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”

The word of the Lord to you today are the same as those which He spoke to Samuel:

How long will you keep grieving? How long will you stay in mourning?
Why have you allowed that disappointment, that hurt, that pain or that betrayal, pitch a permanent tent in your heart and mind?
Why have you allowed it to define the course of your entire existence?

You are not moving because you are so lost in grief; your eyes and ears are shut for the same reason.
I cannot give you new instruction because you will resist them,
I cannot open new doors because you will not step through them,
I cannot present new opportunities before you because your grief will not let you take them.

Beloved, grief unmanaged will become a weight. You have mourned long enough, it’s time to fill your horn with the oil of gladness and get going.
